A nice walk to find Liberty and Belle.
Yesterday was such a great day I decided to go for a walk down the C&O Canal. I was hoping to locate the eagle nest that's across the river at the NCTC. I gathered all the gear that I would need and started off walking very slowly. (I sill have trouble walking) It was such a great day. The sun was bright with just a light wind. I managed to scare up the big ole ground hog that lives under the power lines. Saw a few birds, I even think I caught a glimpse of a rabbit. They move so fast I'm not really sure.
I made it down to the NCTC boat ramp and set up. Sitting on a piece of bark that had fallen out of a tree. I was scanning the tree line across the River and only found three turkey vultures circulating something. They are nice to watch also, they are really ugly up close.
I sat there for about one hour, just soaking up all the sunlight I could take in. The sky was so blue for a winter sky. I really makes you remember that Spring is not far away.
I had a bit of trouble getting up off the ground, but I managed. The walk back was really slow. I did run into a man with a new, little puppy. I'm not sure what kind of puppy it was, but that doesn't really matter what kind... It was so full of energy.
No Eagles.... still a great afternoon walk.
