Things happen on a snowy day....
It was a slow day today. The weather was so bad to do anything else but play with the camera. I like those days... I had to run and grab it when this guy came by for a snack. All of these are taken through the kitchen window. I have to keep the glass really clean, but other then that it's been pretty nice. As you can tell, I do like the close ups. If I every hit a jackpot at bingo, I will buy a good macro lens for the camera and then get really close up. maybe not he birds, but at least the bugs and the flowers. Maybe the bugs in the flowers...

A Visit To My Sisters Over The Summer
This was a visit to my sisters house. She has a wonderful pond in the backyard with all kinds of great things in and around. Here was just one of many pond frogs that call her pond home.
Something's from inside the pond.

Washington Monument, Boonsboro MD
Volunteer villagers of nearby Boonsboro celebrated their independence day July 4, 1827, by building and dedicating this first monument to the memory of George Washington.
Repaired and altered many times over a hundred years by patriotic citizens, it was finally restored to it's original design in 1934-36 by civilian conservation corps.
This monument, used by the Union Army during the civil war as a signal station, and its surrounding land, was bought by the Washington County Historical Society in 1922 and presented to the State of Maryland for park development in 1934.
This massive structure was certified a "Maryland Historical Monument" in March 1972; and a "National Historical Monument" in November, 1972
